About The Position

Job Title : Utilization Review Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Utilization Review

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour

Hours per Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Experience : Minimum of 3 years of acute medical Care Manager / Utilization Management experience performing utilization review in a hospital setting

License : California state license required (pending license accepted, but must be licensed upon start date)

Certifications : Required knowledge of Epic and InterQual

Must-Have :

Acute care experience is a must.

Capable of performing utilization review in an acute care facility.

Experience with Medicare regulations, including specific UM processes.

Proficient in CPT coding, DRG, HEDIS Measures, and CMS guidelines.

Description :

This position requires individuals with solid experience in acute care.

The candidate must possess strong knowledge of admission criteria, concurrent review, and appeals and denials processes.

Daily ratios for patient care are set at 1 : 40.

Team members must demonstrate proficiency in Epic and have recent experience within the last 6-12 months.

Candidates should be familiar with InterQual criteria and other documented regulations.

Flexibility is needed, as team members will support multiple facilities.

Candidates should expect to adhere to all labor laws regarding breaks and lunches.

Team members will be required to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts.

Commitment to working 3 of the 5 major holidays is expected.

References from supervisors covering the past three years in a comparable specialty are required.

All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state.

Refusing to float may result in termination of the assignment.
