CTL Student Learning Assistance (SLA) is a program available to UNM students enrolled in undergraduate classes. Our mission is to enrich the academic climate at UNM and create lifelong learners. The Learning Strategist position below is a member of the Learning Strategies program and provides direct student support within SLA.
Learning Strategist Job Description
Learning Strategists work closely with CTL staff to support the programming and tutoring services offered to UNM students. In collaboration with the Student Success Supervisor, Assistant Coordinator and Student Manager, a Learning Strategists will perform the following duties as assigned :
Participate in weekly professional development trainings designed to assist tutors in becoming effective facilitators of student learning.
Facilitate workshops and individual consultations designed to introduce students to a variety of strategies and transferrable skills that can be used for any course (study tips, time management, note taking, motivation, .
Work collaboratively within a team to develop strategies that help students improve academic engagementand resourcefulness.
Assess student needs and make appropriate referrals to other CTL services and services throughout the university.
Perform administrative responsibilities per CTL and UNM policy.
