Job Summary
- The Regulatory Data Analyst position is accountable for the analysis, design support, testing, and implementation of required data changes for all of our company's regulatory and compliance submissions and reports initiated by a regulatory mandate or a discretionary project.
- This includes premium and loss-related submissions and reports as well as
- handling of special audits and market conducts. Primary duties include requirements review, estimation, data and analysis, creation of accurate technical specifications, development team support, thorough quality assurance, implementation tracking, and production validation support.
- Additional responsibilities include oversight and management of assigned submissions and reports - monitoring, creation, balancing, ensuring timely delivery, and supporting inquiries from internal and / or external recipients.
- This position will evolve into a lead role within the group and will require oversight of projects and resources within the team.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), with 5-8 years of software development experience.Experience in querying relational databasesExperience in data mapping and transformationKnowledge of structured analysisExperience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, including project planning, and estimatingExperience with SQL with ability to create SQL queries for analysis and testing as well as assist developers in creating queriesEffective oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong analytical skills and technical skillsAbility to work with minimal directionAbility to lead, direct, and drive efforts of other team membersAbility to work on multiple, concurrent projectsAbility to effectively collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external partnersAttention to detail and qualityTeam playerStrong motivational skillsDuties and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include :
Analysis and clarification of business requirements both internal and externalProvision of work effort estimates to Project ManagersDevelopment of detailed functional and system specifications using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and software tools.Collaboration with the Development team in all phases of the SDLCDevelopment of use cases Design support, testing and monitoring of all required changes needed to maintain all compliance-related reporting and discretionary projectsCreation of data and transformation mapping specificationsDevelopment of test plans and test cases, and execution of accurate and thorough testingInvolvement in unit, integration, user and performance testing.Management of requirement and testing accountabilities through working closely with business and IT partnersSupport of audits and market conduct exams as neededOther highly valued skills include :
Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry desiredPrior experience with statutory and compliance-related reporting a plusProficiency with MS Office suitePrior Supervisory experienceExposure to DB2 and SQL Server databasesExposure to Cloud technologiesAbility to think outside of the box and a strong desire to improve the status quo
