Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Intermediate Care / Cardiac Stepdown (IMCU)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (option to extend up to 16 weeks)

Start Dates : 12 / 15 / 2025 or 1 / 12 / 2026

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Employment Type : Travel RN contract

On-Site Position

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,780 - $1,910 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown or IMCU (travel nursing experience required)

Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse License (required at start)

Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days

Skills checklist and RN license copy required for submission

Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Preferred : Charge nurse experience and Cerner EMR proficiency

Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital environment

Mentor and support students and new hires, fostering a culture of learning

Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner EMR

Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education

Comply with hospital policies, including holiday and weekend scheduling requirements
