Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

Healthcare Setting : General Surgical Unit (32 beds)

Assignment Type : Travel RN

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 15, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (19 : 00-07 : 00)

Shift Duration : 12 Hour Nights

Hours per Week : Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week.

Guaranteed Hours : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement : As needed

Parking : Available

Dress Code : Solid Navy Scrubs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1720 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or compact state (no temporary licenses)

Associate Degree in Nursing or higher

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS or Red Cross BLS certification

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med / Surg Telemetry or related clinical specialty

At least 18 months of nursing experience under highest professional license

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality postoperative care to general surgical patients

Manage a 1 : 6 nurse-to-patient ratio for optimal patient support

Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons to coordinate clinical care

Perform bedside procedures, pain management, and assist with patient mobility

Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR system

Float to other units or hospitals as required

Promote a comfortable and healing environment for all patients
