Air Reserve Technician Position
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position located in the Transportation Flight of the Logistics Readiness Squadron at an AFRC unit. The primary purpose of this position is to provide staff assistance / surveillance of transportation expertise and guidance and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Key responsibilities include :
- Serving as the focal point for all transportation related matters by reviewing existing policies and procedures to determine need and effectiveness.
- Coordinating unit training assembly and annual tour training requirements.
- Performing work as the Unit Primary Vehicle Control Officer.
- Conducting staff assistance visits to determine effectiveness of subordinate vehicle control programs.
Requirements for this position include :
U.S. Citizenship is required.Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing / qualified to join.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours.Employee must maintain current certifications.Incumbent must obtain a Government, State, or commercial driver's license (CDL), as required.Incumbent may be required to fly in military and / or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.Perform other related duties as assigned.To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below :
Specialized experience required : Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) required :
Knowledge and understanding of transportation, associated equipment, and key processes to effectively evaluate the quality of service.Knowledge of vehicle control program requirements.Knowledge of SORTS reporting requirements.Ability to analyze deficiencies, prepare written reports, and present findings and recommendations.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
