Summary
Plans, coordinates, and supervises the flow of work of internal audit staff. Leads and performs compliance, statutory, and financial audits of County offices. Tests the adequacy of internal controls over financial transactions and County assets. Reviews, analyzes, and validates the accuracy of financial data using computer-aided audit techniques.Posting may close at any time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
NOTE : YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor’s degree or highe r. Accounting degree is preferred.
TO APPLY, must have Four (4) full-time years of accounting or auditing work experience .
TO APPLY, must have a current and valid driver license and an acceptable driving record . Note : A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
Supervisory work experience is preferred.
Ability to collect and analyze financial data and draw logical conclusions.
Ability to recognize risks and communicate those risks to management for action.
Ability to make decisions based on relevant criteria.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient use of spreadsheet and word processing required.
Data mining techniques preferred.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
