CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONSULTANT)

About the Position : This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. One position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. One position is located at Soldier Centered Medical Home, Fort Richardson, Alaska. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for candidates new to Federal service. Duties Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions. Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches. Provide regular and concise feedback to primary care providers and staff on the status of referred patients, including recommendations for team-based care. Implement psychoeducational classes targeting high-frequency diagnoses in the primary care clinic. Document patient encounters in the electronic health record. Requirements Appointment may be subject to background suitability or fitness determination. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. This position involves interaction with children and youth under 18, requiring initial and periodic background checks. Must sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption. A pre-placement medical examination is required. Immunization screening is required; Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory for positions with direct patient contact. Must obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Must fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain relevant clinical privileges. The position may require work on call during irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Resume must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts are required if qualifying by education. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant) : Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in clinical psychology. Specialized Experience : One year of experience conducting behavioral health assessments, providing individual and group treatment, and working in a multidisciplinary team, typical of the GS-12 level.
