Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Site

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Site in Hampton, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Officer at a leading retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Pay Rate : $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTime Mon 06 : 00 AM - 05 : 00 PM Wed 06 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM Thur 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 30 PM Fri 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 30 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site-specific procedures.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and interacting with customers and staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and / or emergency services when necessary.
  • Complete required reports and documentation regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a valid security-related guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
