Position Summary :
Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to moderately complex payroll tasks and assists with special assignments and projects related to the company's payroll operations.
What You Will Do
- Process union and / or non-union payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records
- Retrieve and review employee timesheets to ensure accuracy prior to importing into accounting software
- Calculate and process final paychecks for departing employees
- Print checks and prepare direct deposit files, as applicable
- Track and process garnishments and other special payroll deductions
- Manage workflow to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll inquiries
- Identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Comply with the PRIME Safety Program by adhering to all safety procedures and practices
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You Will Need to be Successful
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet strict deadlinesExcellent problem-solving and judgment skillsHigh attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressureAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion and ethical conductEffective verbal and written communication skills; collaborative team playerProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with payroll software preferredKnowledge of Certified Payroll and OCIP is preferred29 - $36 an hour
