Part-time Speech Therapist (15hrs biweekly)

Schedule : Flexible days, 3 : 00pm - 6 : 00pm (15hrs biweekly)

Compensation : $42 / hr.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents through clinical observation and formal testing, in areas of speech, language, non-symbolic communication, augmentative communication, articulation, hearing and oral motor skills for feeding and speech.
• Develop a written annual Assessment Summary to include strengths and needs within these areas.
• Provide written progress notes / reports as needed as well as documentation of specific objectives for each resident when necessary.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Assessments and Planning for each resident, including preadmission assessments.
• Provide or coordinate audiological assessments.
• Develop appropriate therapeutic program for each resident based on strengths and needs in speech, language, non-symbolic communication, augmentative communication, articulation, hearing and oral motor skills.
• Provide direct or assisted intervention based on identified needs.
• Develop a therapeutic feeding program for each resident to include texture recommendation.
• Coordinate goals and equipment within discipline with school speech / language and / or hearing therapist.
• Develop and maintain programs and lexicons for language boards, communication books, and augmentative devices.
• Maintain augmentative devices in good repair.
• Develop programs and maintain equipment for auditory training.
• Provide on-going In-Service training to residential staff to implement programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
