Lift Station Mechanic

The purpose of this position is to conduct manual and skilled labor, for lift station rehabilitation projects. Duties include working in lift station wet wells to remove the pumps and pump bases, vertical riser pipe and pump guide rails. Remove valve vault, horizontal piping, check and gate valves. Building forms to pour concrete slabs. Setup by-pass pumping, tie-in header system to force main. Other duties include performing safety inspections and documentation; utilizing heavy construction equipment; maintaining equipment; and correspond with project managers, engineers, contractors, etc.

1. Rehabilitation services include removal and replacement of pumps, bases, rails, and other wet well components.
2. Replacement of lift station piping manifolds.
3. Completing administrative and planning duties such as: ordering locates; filling out paperwork for right-of-way permitting material takeoffs; setting up bypass; setting up RTU floats; setting up vacuum trucks; injecting leaking wet wells; working under a schedule; contacting subcontractors; and verifying material deliveries.
4. Construction and labor duties such as, but not limited to: building header piping system; shoveling rock; digging holes for tie-ins; using a wheel barrel; picking control panels up; unloading trucks; moving materials into the warehouse; communicating with assistants.

6. Installing valve boxes with riser pipes; utilizing metal detection; pinpointing location; verify incoming sewer lines sizes; digging up locations and install bypass piping; video record job site.
7. Operate various equipment; inspect vehicles or equipment; maintain equipment; start up equipment, read blueprints.
8. Send emails, handle banking transactions measure fence locations, make drawing, and handle overtime sheet.
9. Operate various equipment by gathering keys; inspecting vehicles or equipment; maintaining equipment; and starting up equipment.
