Part-time Pediatric Hospitalist - Newborn Nursery

Position Details :

Part-time opportunity for newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage.

Flexible schedule to be arranged with the manager, with shifts including six (6) weekdays and two (2) weekend shifts in a four (4) week cycle.

Each shift lasts twenty-four (24) hours.

Weekday coverage requires the physician to be on-site at the hospital from 5 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 AM and available by phone from 10 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM.

Weekend shifts require the physician to be on-site for the entire twenty-four (24) hour period.

Responsibilities include rounding on newborns, attending c-sections (scheduled and emergent), managing photo therapy, assisting with occasional pediatric consultations, and stabilizing newborns for transport.

Faculty opportunity available with Quinnipiac University to teach medical students.

Support from neonatologists available 24 / 7.

No circumcision procedures required.

The hospital averages over 1,000 deliveries annually.

An unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility for one).
