About The Position

• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• Department : PCU
• Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
• Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract- Beds : 28- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults, generally patients that arrive through the ER, Mixed Medical / Surgical along with cardiac and stroke patients- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Heparin, octreotide, insulin, maintenance dosages of IV meds (non-titratable)- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 14- Specialty Equipment Available : Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, hoyer lift, Sit and Stand- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? : Tele yes - RNs must be able to read and interpret- Shifts & Scheduling : 0630-1900, 1830-0700 / 6 week scheduling. Scheduling is done by unit schedulers- Weekend Requirements : Every other weekend- Holiday Requirements : Will rotate with perm staff- Floating Requirements : Med / Surg and to all areas in the hospital, depending on abilities, including ICU / ED for appropriate types of patient care- Scrub Color / Dress code : Navy Blue- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : First week is classroom orientation, then 2- 12 hour shifts- Additional Notes : This is a high flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges. Looking for positive nurses willing to work with others as a team to overcome challenges. Having a unit secretary 2-3 days / week and a stocking clerk 3 days / weekRadius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.Entered on : 11 / 20 / 2023 Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting BSN License to Trauma Level : Care Shift Notes : 12 hr nights Required , BLS, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract Weeks : 91
