The Position :

The principal tasks of the School-Based Social Worker is to help students and families make the best use of available opportunities and resources and to fully develop each student's individual potential. The School-Based Social Worker brings to the educational process an understanding of the psychosocial development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences as they interact with the educational process. The School-Based Social Worker will work with those problems in a child's living situation that affect the child's adjustment in school, such as the home, school, and general community. This position will mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the child to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program. The School-Based Social Worker is supervised by the School Services Program Manager / Supervisor.
