This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Work Schedule : 7 : 00am to 3 : 30pm, 7 : 30am to 4 : 00pm, or 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm, Monday through Friday

The Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) program provides cost-effective primary care services in the home setting including palliative care, rehabilitation disease management, and coordination of care. The HBPC program targets frail, chronically ill veterans who require care by interdisciplinary healthcare teams, continuity, coordination of care, and the integration of diverse services to cover a complex medical, social, rehabilitative, and behavioral health care needs. These veterans need comprehensive, longitudinal home care services, as they age, to maximize function, minimize institutionalization, and maintain quality of life.
The HBPC physician medical director is responsible for the overall medical care delivered by the HBPC team and will also be responsible for the overall medical care of patients with conditions requiring treatment in their specialty to include consultative, prescriptive, and ordering authority in the outpatient / ambulatory and or inpatient basic setting at the VA Southern NV Health Care System. The incumbent provides patient care directly and / or through the clinical oversite of trainees to include residents, fellows and / or medical students in the home setting. In addition to their role as clinician, the HBPC medical director will have administrative responsibilities for clinical leadership and direction of HBPC development and programs, as well demonstrating effective interface with the HBPC staff. The HBPC medical director will participate fully in all accreditation processes, reviews, and site visits.
