About The Position

Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant

Profession : Therapy / Rehabilitation

Specialty : Outpatient

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience preferred

License : Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing in the state of Michigan

Certifications : BLS certification required within 3 months of hire

Must-Have :

Ortho experience highly preferred

Some neuro experience preferred

Description :

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program required.

Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred.

Follow the plan of care and goals established by the Physical Therapist.

Provide family and community education.

Deliver direct patient care, including performing physical, electrical, mechanical, and heat treatments according to the treatment plan.

Conduct individual and / or group Physical Therapy activities according to the treatment plan.

Facilitate and instruct patients in the skills necessary to successfully participate.

Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions or hospital rounds.

Engage in program development.

Serve as a resource person in areas of expertise.

Participate in student programs and student rotations.

Provide in-services in areas of expertise as needed.

May need to cross-train and provide coverage in other departments within Client as required.

Document in the electronic health record per compliance timelines.

Communicate to leadership limitations that prevent timely documentation.

Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records for each person served.

Serve on committees and task forces.

Participate in process improvement initiatives.

Demonstrate time management skills.

Supervise Rehab Clinical Assistants, PTA students, and volunteers.
