Description :

This position involves providing care for patients in a medical-surgical setting.

The unit has a total of 12 beds.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-6.

Central monitoring is in place with tele packs.

Nurses are expected to manage low-level ICU patients, including those on pressors.

Common medications include heparin, nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin.

No ventilation management is required on the inpatient unit.

BIPAP and other treatments are administered by nurses.

There is no dedicated IV team, but a provider is available to place PICC lines during the day.

Pharmacists are available during the day, with tele pharmacy on call at night.

Charting is done using a specific electronic medical record system.

Types of patients include those with CHF, COPD, pneumonia, cardiac arrhythmias, and sepsis.

Surgical patients are typically transferred out.

This is a friendly and team-oriented environment.

Teamwork and flexibility are essential for success in this role.

Weekend shifts are required every third weekend or more frequently if necessary.

Holiday coverage will rotate with permanent staff.

All scrubs must be appropriate and professional.

Nurses will be assigned to float within the facility based on qualifications.

The work schedule may require adjustments as needed.
