Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Rome, NY 13440 (Central New York nursing jobs)

Contract Type : Per Diem (Travel Nursing)

Start Date : October 27, 2025

End Date : January 24, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM); flexibility to cover day shifts a plus

Minimum Shifts : 2 shifts per month required

Hours per Week : 36 (typical)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1680-$1800

Openings : 3 Med / Surg RN positions available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

NIH Stroke Certification (required before start date)

Proficient IV skills; experience with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care

Ability to float to Medical / Surgical units as needed

Completion of 8 hours of CEUs during facility orientation

Flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declining)

Travel nursing experience preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to Medical / Surgical and Telemetry patients

Monitor and manage cardiac drips; interpret EKG strips accurately

Perform wound care and IV therapy with clinical expertise

Float to other Med / Surg units as required by the healthcare facility

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols

Participate in ongoing education and orientation requirements
