Etalon is a privately held Silicon Valley biotechnology company that has developed a revolutionary veterinary genetic profiling service. Primarily about the preclinical and agricultural markets, the initial focus of Etalon’s service is on the horse as a model species and has recently undergone expansion to include a canine focus. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our growing team. This full-time position offers significant potential for growth for the right individual. This role requires 100% onsite attendance at our Redwood City office.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

  • Managing sample inventory, and processing
  • Executing standard molecular biology protocols including DNA extraction
  • Collaborating with others for research
  • Summarizing data into presentations and reports
  • Data entry and organization
  • Sample transportation
  • Quality Control

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field preferred
  • 1 year of post-graduate wet lab experience preferred
  • Ability to independently develop and troubleshoot laboratory protocols
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work both independently and with teams
  • Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other team members
  • Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to details
  • High level of self-motivation and integrity
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

    • This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position based onsite in Redwood City, CA.

    Hourly Rate : $27.00 – $29.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
