Duties and Responsibilities The Associate Director of Field Experiences and Residency Coordinator, leads the college’s teacher residency work, building partnerships for the college’s residency implementation, ensuring program alignment with PED’s residency guidance, serving as the point person for residency communications and as the liaison between NMHU and the teacher residency efforts, attending state community of practice meetings, and working with the PED to ensure any new residency directions and responsibilities get integrated into the College’s programs and processes.

Exhibits professionalism, courtesy, respect, and be approachable.- Facilitates formal and informal discussions about co-teaching progress and areas of needed growth and develops quarterly professional development based on those needs.- Communicates requirements and expectations to the co-teaching teams and school administrators throughout the semester.- Communicates in a timely manner in person, through telephone calls, and / or e-mail.- Supports the development of co-teaching interns by providing constructive, relevant, useful, and written feedback during scheduled meetings and professional development sessions.- Collaborates and coordinates with mentors and administrators to schedule mid-term and final evaluation conferences, and monitor student progress.- Maintains communication and databases with school districts, facilitates annual placement of co-teachers and develops policy and programming tools.- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements - Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in the teaching field.- Five or more years of K-12 teaching experience and ability to meet NM Level IILicensure.- Experience with assessment of programs in an academic setting.- Prior experience in teacher mentorship in the state of New Mexico.- Prior experience coordinating across stakeholder teams and school districts. Preferred Qualifications - Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution in the teaching field.- Three or more years of experience in educational administration or programmingcoordination aligned with NMPED systems.- Experience working with Tribal, Pueblo, and rural communities.- Bilingual. Special Conditions for Eligibility Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Proficiency teaching and communicating with colleagues and students via electronicand digital modalities.- Proficiency in Brightspace or other Learning Management System.- Proficiency with student advisement / information systems Degree Audit in Banner).- Proficiency in Via or similar system or willingness to be trained in Via Watermark (assessment / accreditation system).- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Able to have critical conversations to help teachers improve.- Have strong reputation as an educator and / or classroom teacher.- Ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies.- Strong reputation as an educator and / or classroom teacher.- Active NM Tier III Licensure for eligibility) in applicable area.- Ability to use technology in the performance of responsibilities.- Must be willing to travel to schools.- Have a valid driver’s license and mode of reliable transportation.- Have ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies.- Use NMTEACH Rubric to perform formal observations / evaluations of staff. Physical Demands - Repetitive hand motion and prolonged use of computer.- Sitting for extended periods of time.- No or very limited physical effort required. Working Environment - Work is performed in a typical interior / office work environment or remote location.- Work with frequent interruptions.- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
