Job descriptionWeekly starts available. Shift hours are from 0700 to 1930. The unit has 21 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 4. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, hypoxia, and shortness of breath. Recent surgical patients include those who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting and valve procedures, endarterectomy, and thoracotomy. Patients may require high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, or CPAP. Management of arterial lines and stable airways, including tracheostomies, is expected. Procedures performed include arterial sheath removal, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and thrombolytic administration. Assessments and therapeutic interventions are conducted every 2 to 4 hours. Proficiency in monitoring equipment such as Vapotherm, IV pumps, and wound vacs is necessary. Ability to titrate vasoactive drips including nicardipine and nitroglycerin is required.
