About the Registered Nurse role

• Administer medication and treatment, while supervising LPNs in executing physicians' orders and proper nursing procedures.
• Investigate and report on unusual incidents involving resident care, and report residents' abnormal physical and mental reactions to the physician.
• Interact with residents and families to explain treatment.
• Conduct formalized training sessions for professional and non-professional personnel, attend in-service training programs, and participate in drills for and respond to facility emergencies.
• Take appropriate action if abuse or neglect (by staff, visitors, family, or peers) occurs, including protecting and supporting the resident, and reporting / documenting the incident.
