Sourcing & Procurement Specialist
(aka : Scrappy STEM Problem-Solver Wanted) | Dispatch Goods
Bay Area (Hybrid) or Remote | Full-Time
About the Role
We're Dispatch Goods, and we're building a circular packaging system to replace single-use waste with durable, reusable, injection-molded magic. To keep our supply chain humming, we're hiring someone who is :
(like…
actually
scrappy)
(you follow up until the thing gets done)
(you love puzzles, chaos, and fixing what's broken)
(degree helpful but not required; brain wiring required)
—sports, robotics, side hustles, debate, mathletes, building weird stuff… anything that shows grit + achievement
Zero experience in sourcing or supply chain required.
We can teach you what a mold, MOQ, or OTIF is.
We
cannot
teach scrappiness, grit, or follow-through.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll help keep our global supply chain running as we scale reusable packaging across the food industry. That means you will :
Forecast inventory so we don't run out of bowls, lids, cups, or plates
Own (redesign?) a circular inventory management system — sounds simple, but is surprisingly complex
Issue and track purchase orders with factories in China, India, Vietnam
Herd vendors, freight brokers, and inspectors to hit deadlines
Negotiate pricing and timelines (nicely, but firmly)
Scout new suppliers when we need something better / faster / cheaper
Troubleshoot surprises (there will be surprises)
Support custom orders for big customers
Protect our supply chain from chaos, delays, and "wait, what?" moments
You'll be talking to real factories, solving real problems, and making decisions that directly impact operations.
You'll Love This Job If You Are :
Shaving pennies off of products gets you very, very excited
You have a VERY high degree of ownership
The kind of person who
figures stuff out
before anyone tells you how
Someone who hates loose ends and loves tidy spreadsheets
The person friends call when something breaks
Equal parts analytical and scrappy (STEM brain + "get it done" energy)
Obsessed with learning how things are made
Energized by sustainability and building systems from scratch
Unafraid to send the polite-but-firm follow-up email… again
You Might Be a Fit If :
You built a senior project, ran a club, captained a team, started a business, or excelled at literally
anything
that required grit
You can explain a complicated process clearly
You like solving physical-world problems (manufacturing, logistics, operations)
You get a weird amount of joy from spreadsheets
Ambiguity doesn't scare you—because you'll bring order to it
What You'll Learn
Everything needed to become a future sourcing / supply chain leader, including :
How injection-molded packaging is made
How global manufacturing works (tooling, QC, freight, timelines)
How to negotiate with suppliers
How to run S&OP and forecasting
How to manage complex, multi-party production workflows
You'll work directly into Ops / Product leadership and learn end-to-end supply chain on Day 1.
What We Offer
A mission-driven team reducing single-use waste at scale
Real ownership, real visibility, real responsibility
Growth paths into sourcing, planning, vendor management, or product ops
Competitive salary + benefits
The chance to build something that actually matters
Comp : $50-70k
