ICU RN Job Details

Location : Kingwood, WV 26537 (West Virginia nursing jobs)

Setting : Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Adult & Geriatric Patients

Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 22, 2025

Shifts : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00pm – 7 : 30am), weekdays and every other weekend

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1570-$1680

Employment Type : Travel RN

Orientation : 16 hours (includes modules)

Patient Ratios : 2 : 1

Scrubs : Wine and / or burgundy (not provided)

EMR : CPSI

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience (critical care nursing)

Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact State (pending license acceptable)

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (American Heart Association required)

CCRN certification preferred

Minimum 2 Manager or Charge references within the past 2 years

Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Ability to float to other units as needed

ICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a 2-bed ICU

Perform conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management

Administer emergency medications and blood products

Manage arterial and central lines, BiPAP / CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula

Interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias

Assist with chest tube insertion / removal and procedural sedation

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions

Document patient care using CPSI EMR system
