$23.50 - $32.75 / Hourly

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist in providing the best possible treatment with urgency. Key duties include :

  • Utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist
  • Learning patient expectations and educating them with intra-oral pictures
  • Using effective chair-side skills
  • Supporting the dentists diagnosis after examinations

The RDA should comply with safety regulations, infection control, and permitted duties according to state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment
  • Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by focusing on optimal treatment and patient needs
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist doctors
  • Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories following ADA guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, with required training courses for certification or licensure
  • Certifications / licenses as mandated by state (e.g., radiograph, ultrasonic scaling, sealants)
  • Associate degree or certificate from an accredited college or equivalent experience preferred
