Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals by providing effective instruction and assessment withing the framework of provided common syllabi. Adjunct Faculty can teach between 1 to 12 contact hours and are paid per contact hour. Interested applicants should apply as soon as possible preferably before Monday, October 2, 2023.
This position requires teaching from an on-campus classroom at the Lake County Ivy Tech Community College which has locations in Crown Point / Merrillville, East Chicago, and Gary.
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook
- Submits requested information within established timelines
STUDENTS :
Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions / provide assistanceDeal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issuesINSTRUCTION :
