Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Lynchburg, VA (24501) – Virginia healthcare jobs

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)

Start Dates : 12 / 1 / 2025 or 12 / 15 / 2025

Shift : 12-hour nights

Hours per Week : 36

Employment Type : Travel RN contract

On-Site Position

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Intermediate Care, Stepdown, Telemetry, or Cardiac IMCU

Prior travel nursing experience required

Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be in hand by start date)

Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days

Skills checklist and copy of RN license required for submission

Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays; no Christmas holiday RTO approved

Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Charge nurse experience preferred

RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac, neuro, and CVA patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital setting

Mentor nursing students and new hires, fostering a culture of learning and teamwork

Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care using Cerner EMR

Participate in unit activities, including weekend and holiday shifts as needed

Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
