Responsibilities :
Appointment Management : Act as the primary scheduler for all client medical, therapy, and necessary healthcare appointments.Insurance & Authorization : Efficiently verify client insurance coverage and eligibility for transportation, ensuring appointments and travel are booked in accordance with payer requirements.Trip Coordination (Uber & Others) : Expertly arrange client transportation, utilizing services like Uber (or similar ride-share / non-emergency medical transport providers) while adhering to safety protocols and budget guidelines.Scheduling & Rescheduling : Proactively manage the appointment calendar, including prompt rescheduling of appointments due to client or provider changes, and communicating updates immediately to all relevant parties.Documentation : Maintain precise, detailed, and confidential records of all appointments, transportation arrangements, insurance verifications, and communication logs within the client management system.Communication : Serve as a key liaison between clients, providers, insurance companies, and our internal care team to ensure seamless coordination.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Business, or a related field is required.Experience : 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, such as a clinic, health insurance, or care management environment, with a focus on scheduling or patient access.Insurance Knowledge : Demonstrated proficiency in working with health insurance plans and understanding authorization processes. Logistics : Familiarity with ride-share applications (like Uber) and non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services is highly preferred.Core Skills : Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to manage complex, shifting schedules accurately.Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills with an empathetic, client-first approach.Technical Proficiency : High level of proficiency in computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.Horizon Center San Diego is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
