Charleston Nursing Job Details

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1420–$1530

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026)

Healthcare Setting : 18-bed Medical / Surgical Unit (Family Medicine 7A)

Nursing Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per month

Holiday Rotation : Yes

Floating : May be required within scope and between similar units

Charting System : EPIC

Scrub Color : Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms

Orientation : 12 hours (includes modules)

Parking : Onsite garage available (one-time registration fee)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact RN license

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical RN experience

BLS certification required

Experience with adult patient populations

First-time travel nurses accepted

Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Willingness to float as needed

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult medical and surgical patients, including those with chronic illnesses

Manage patient loads with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 4–1 : 5

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)

Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and deliver patient education

Document care using EPIC electronic health records system

Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols

Respond to rapid response and code teams as needed

Float to similar medical / surgical units as required
