About the Role :
The Facilities Director provides strategic leadership and daily management of all physical plant operations across a multi-building housing complex. This position is responsible for ensuring that facilities, grounds, and building systems are safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. The Director oversees maintenance, custodial, and landscaping teams, manages capital improvement projects, and ensures compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Facilities Director in providing oversight of daily maintenance, repair, and facilities operations.
- Support the development and performance of maintenance and technical staff, fostering a motivated and skilled team environment.
- Participate in routine property inspections to ensure facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Help forecast maintenance and financial needs, manage budgets, and ensure timely project completion.
- Contribute to financial reporting, inventory control, and vendor management.
- Assist in training programs, safety initiatives, and professional development of facilities staff.
- Participate in resident engagement and LifeWorks community events as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and local building codes and environmental standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations and provide support for on-call operations when required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in facilities management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Universal HVAC certification preferred.Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and preventive maintenance programs.Working knowledge of local building codes, OSHA, EPA, and Hazmat / Universal Waste protocols.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); Yardi experience preferred.EEO Policy :
