Overview
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed for a 13-week contract in a post-acute and long-term care setting. The LPN partners with residents, RNs, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment through both direct and indirect patient care.
Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered. Previous employees are not eligible.
Local travelers are subject to a reduced local rate.
Unit Details
This role may include assignment or floating between the following unit types :
Specialized Alzheimer's / Dementia Care Unit (31 beds) :
Provides long-term care for residents with memory-related conditions. Requires effective verbal and non-verbal communication, understanding behavioral expressions, and supporting residents in a home-like environment.
Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (42 beds) :
Short-term skilled nursing and rehab for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, or other conditions requiring therapy-focused care. Common duties include IV therapy, wound care, geriatric assessment, and management.
Long-Term Care Unit (42 beds) :
Provides ongoing care for residents requiring long-term placement in a supportive, home-like environment.
Requirements
Education
Associate degree in Nursing OR completion of a state-approved LPN program.
Active, current State of Maine or Compact LPN license .
Experience
Minimum 2 years of LPN experience required.
1 3 years of prior LPN or RN experience in LTC / SNF preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong teamwork, communication, and medical terminology knowledge preferred.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
Flexibility to work 24 / 7 scheduling needs and float to other units.
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
Additional Notes
Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid.
The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
Bilingual not required.
EPIC EMR experience preferred but not required.
Holiday coverage required.
