Job Summary : This position plays a key role in supporting production by working closely with tooling, engineering, and department leadership. The CNC Swiss Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating a Tsugami B0123-III Swiss Screw machine and may perform other general machining duties using lathes, mills, grinders, and saws. The role focuses on developing efficient processes that meet design tolerances and support quality manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities :
Follow all safety and HESS protocolsApply advanced mathematical concepts (geometry, trigonometry) in daily tasksMaintain and inspect machinery, equipment, and toolsUtilize inspection tools for in-process quality checksProgram and operate Tsugami Swiss CNC machinesSet up machines and perform first article inspectionsMonitor and run production with consistent quality inspectionsAssist with programming / setup of CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and saws as neededCommunicate with management on nonconformance and improvement opportunitiesParticipate in audits and resolve issues promptlyMake data-driven decisions and support continuous improvementMaintain a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 5S principlesRecommend improvements in safety, quality, cost, and efficiencyInterpret blueprints and apply GD&T specificationsMonitor and adjust machine setup as neededConduct minor machine maintenance and tool & die workQualifications and Experience :
High school diploma or GED required2-year technical degree / certificate in machining or equivalent experience5 years of CNC programming and operation experience3 years in Swiss machining, preferably with Tsugami machinesCAM software experience, GibbsCAM preferredProficiency in G & M codes for Swiss machiningAbility to interpret blueprints, safety rules, and maintenance instructionsOther Skills and Abilities :
Strong willingness to learn and stay current with evolving technologiesTeam-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesPhysical Requirements :
