About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse

Must-Have :
- 2 years minimum PICU experience
- PALS and BLS required
- TNCC Certification appreciated but not required
Description :
General Pediatric ICU responsibilities.
Administration of blood and blood products is necessary.
Knowledge of antiarrhythmics and arterial line management is required.
Assisting and managing intubation, as well as BiPAP / CPAP, is essential.
Care of ventilated patients is expected.
Central line blood draw and care, including implanted line care, are needed.
High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) experience is required.
Infection control and PPE knowledge is necessary.
Insulin administration and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is essential.
Candidates must be able to interpret dysrhythmias.
Experience with IV insulin pumps and IV vasopressors is preferred.
Management of dysrhythmias is required.
Pediatric dosage calculations are necessary.
Phlebotomy skills are essential.
PICC line management experience is required.
Starting and maintaining IVs is necessary.
Suctioning of ETT and NT is expected.
Telemetry monitoring on the unit is essential.
Tracheostomy care and ventilator management skills are required.
The unit supports an interdisciplinary approach.
Additional support from respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams is available.
The patient population includes adolescents, infants, and pediatrics.
The unit includes a total capacity for 16 patients when needed.
Common patient diagnoses include respiratory illness, sepsis, postoperative care, hematology oncology, and renal transplant.
Floating to different areas within the organization may be required.
All travelers may need to float as patient observers.
Candidates should be flexible with scheduling to meet unit needs.
