Unit Overview :
Become a vital member of our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you will care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients in the Comprehensive Stroke Program dealing with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients alongside medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to cutting-edge surgical techniques and advanced patient care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, implement individualized interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.Anticipate and respond to significant changes in patient conditions.Ensure patient safety and promote health education for patients and families.Cooperate with interdisciplinary teams for effective discharge planning.Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance department performance and patient experience.Participate in professional development opportunities for continuous growth.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license issued in the state of practice, andBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Demonstrated ability to provide holistic patient care.Strong critical thinking and communication skills.Proficient with electronic medical record systems.Ability to develop rapport with patients and collaborate effectively.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
