Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Interventional Radiology Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 30 hours per week Shift : 10 hours Employment Type : Travel The staff cardiac sonographer's primary responsibilities are the performance of high quality cardiac ultrasound examinations on adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient environments according to physician 's orders, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment. Confidently identify, evaluate and document the presence or absence of cardiac pathology adhering to the standards established by the American Society of Echocardiography. Assist the cardiologist in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms as well as other special procedures. Perform exercise and pharmalogical stress echocardiograms including valve studies. Participate in on going quality assurance and quality improvement processes in addition to required education within the Echocardiography Lab. We will share after hours on call coverage for emergencies equitably among staff. Adheres to departmental policies and philosophies to provide customers with the highest quality service. Reports to the labs Technical Director / Supervisor. Required : Successful completion of a two year accredited (CAAHEP) Cardiovascular Technology or Ultrasound Program with emphasis in echocardiography. Previous performance of at least 800 complete echocardiography exams. Current RDCS or RCS credential from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Current BLS certification.
