Job description

The Opportunity RS&H is currently seeking an entry-level Engineering Associate for our Traffic Engineering Group in Tampa or Jacksonville, Florida Offices. The Engineer will primarily work within Florida. However, the position is national in scope, and the Engineer will also collaborate with associates in other states including Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, and Texas. We are looking for an engineering associate with a desire to work in traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). You will work in a flexible, team-oriented environment and should have excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills. You will be a key member of our team. Essential Functions ITS Planning and Design Signing and Pavement Markings Design Lighting Analysis and Design Traffic Signal Design Coordinated Traffic Signal Timing Development and Implementation Secondary Functions Traffic Analysis Safety Analysis Toll Technologies This position involves both office and field activities supporting the primary functions and offers diverse opportunities beyond typical engineering roles. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university. Awareness of federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and ordinances. Basic knowledge of relevant software production tools. A passion for engineering and a willingness to learn and grow. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, team members, and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Engineering Intern (EI) certification with 1-2 years of internship or related experience. Experience with AutoCAD and / or MicroStation.
