Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,148 per week in Prescott, AZ

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : MS / Tele / PCU Float Pool Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS Must-Have : At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting Comfortable managing titratable and set rate drips Description : Unit requires pre-screening and manager review. Clinician must take and pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. If the clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will be DNU for 6 months. Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius and may not work with any affiliated facilities. Float pool includes MedSurg, Tele, and PCU units. Care for inpatient holding in the emergency department. Nurse-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in PCU and 1 : 5-6 in MedSurg Tele. Common diagnoses include geriatric, orthopedic, and post-procedural patients. Experience with post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op care is preferred. Nurses are required to titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. Each unit has a charge nurse who does not take assignments. Nurse aids are utilized in all settings. Equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow in PCU. Monitors are available on the unit, and nurses must interpret strips. Scheduling is managed by the staffing office and published 6 weeks in advance. Travelers need to be flexible with their scheduling. Weekend requirements include every other weekend, and holiday requirements include participation in the permanent staff rotation. No call or standby requirement exists. Notification of assignment is provided 2 hours before the start of the shift. Dress code includes solid color professional scrubs with alignment to guidelines in October. Cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks. Charting system is Cerner. BSN is not required. Trauma level is acute.
