Job Description
This is a remote position.
The Product Owner will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the
development team, ensuring that product vision and user needs are clearly translated into
actionable stories and deliverables. This role requires strong analytical thinking, communication
skills, and a passion for building products that simplify complex processes.
Experience in justice, court administration, or government systems is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring alignment on priorities, requirements, and outcomes.
- Own the product backlog — create, refine, and prioritize user stories and acceptance criteria to reflect business goals and user needs.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to define the product roadmap, sprint goals, and release plans.
- Partner with UX / UI designers and engineers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
- Gather and analyze feedback from end-users, clients, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to support smooth agile delivery.
- Validate completed features against acceptance criteria before release.
- Support change management and training efforts by providing product insights and documentation.
- Maintain awareness of industry standards, especially within government, justice, or enterprise workflow systems.
Requirements
2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role in an agile software development environment.Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles—leading discussions, managing expectations, and translating requirements.Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies and backlog management best practices.Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable user stories.Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar agile platforms.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.Passion for improving systems that impact public service or operational efficiency.Preferred : Experience in court management, justice systems, or government technology.Benefits
