About The Role :

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Payroll & HRIS Manager to lead our payroll operations and HRIS systems. In this role, you’ll ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, and drive process improvements across payroll and HR systems. You’ll also play a key role in annual processes like open enrollment and merit planning, while partnering cross-functionally with HR, Accounting, and IT. This is an onsite opportunity located in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities : Payroll Operations

  • Manage bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for 250+ employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accurate year-end processing (W-2s, 941s, etc.).
  • Maintain and reconcile GL mappings between payroll and accounting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all wage, hour, and tax regulations.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and support audits and agency notices.

HRIS Management

  • Serve as the primary administrator for ADP Workforce Now.
  • Maintain data integrity through regular audits and updates.
  • Generate and analyze reports (turnover, headcount, EEO, payroll analytics, etc.).
  • Support system integrations with platforms like Microsoft Dynamics (D365) and SharePoint.
  • Continuously improve HRIS processes to support business needs.
  • Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prepare and file annual reports, audits, and other related requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal controls.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to uphold legal and policy standards.
  • Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of hands-on, multi-state payroll experience (250+ employees).
  • 10+ years of HRIS administration experience (ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll best practices and tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across all levels.
  • High level of integrity and discretion with confidential information.
