Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Hematology and Oncology in New York

We are seeking an experienced Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This position starts Jan 2, 2026, with clinical work commencing Jan 5, 2026, and offers day shifts, Monday through Friday, four days per week. The assignment focuses on ambulatory therapeutic infusion and chemotherapy / biotherapy prescribing. Job Details Location : New York Start Date : Jan 2, 2026 LOA : 16 days Provider Type Needed : Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner Schedule : Monday-Friday (4 shifts a week), 08 : 00-18 : 00 Responsibilities and Duties Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patients within the designated specialty and age group per NYS NP certification Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when appropriate Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities consistent with specialty practice Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate Administer and prescribe chemotherapy / biotherapy, with documented competency in at least 10 administrations within the past 12 months Provide ambulatory therapeutic infusion care Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling Debride and provide care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes Additional Information Must hold an active New York Nurse Practitioner license with specialty certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Family Nurse Practitioner Required certifications : Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Demonstrated competence in chemotherapy / biotherapy administration required Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
