Any call-offs or additional RTO could result in a cancellation. Technicians start directly on the unit on Mondays until they complete their training. The unit will accept contracts ranging from 13 to 20 weeks. Expect urgent and emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures. The call requirement includes weekday call from 16 : 00 to 07 : 30 twice a week for two weeks in a month. Weekend call is from Friday 16 : 00 to Monday 07 : 30 once a month. No call is required the week following a weekend call. Callback time for STEMIs is 30 minutes; IR callback time depends on procedure type. The call team consists of three staff members, which includes at least one RN. There are no float requirements. Every third weekend is required for call. The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include vice implants such as PPM and ICD. The lab handles both diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. Medication administration is the responsibility of the RN only. The special equipment used includes GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR / IVUS, Canon Angio Jet, and others. The unit features a combination lab with an approximate 90%-10% split between IR and other procedure types. Candidates must assist the provider while performing procedures and maintain a sterile field. Candidates are expected to have flexibility as they may be required to float to other units based on skills and census. Traveling pairs are allowed but must work on different units. Fatigue policy requires travelers to not work more than five consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a week. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually. Candidates must provide two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months. Working both as a travel Per Diem and a travel contract is not accepted.
