Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in an acute care setting requiring a TX or compact RN license and BLS / NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital

Night shift position with hours from 6 : 45pm to 7 : 00am

Assigned every other weekend

Unit averages 45 to 65 births per month, with increased activity during the summer

Responsible for care of well babies, postpartum mothers, and laboring patients

No circulating C-Sections, as the OR handles these cases

Collaborates with a team of 5 OB physicians and 1 certified nurse midwife

Uses Allscripts-Paragon EMR system

Must be able to provide comprehensive care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and well newborns

12-hour orientation provided at the start of assignment

Holiday coverage may be required as per unit needs

Candidates may not have been employed directly by a CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and an additional peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Pending licensure or certifications not accepted
