UNI's Admissions Office is adding to its team! Based on qualifications, the successful candidate will be hired into one of two levels of professional opportunity : Transfer Admissions Counselor or Senior Transfer Admissions Counselor .
Primary Function :
Transfer Admissions Counselor position : Recruits new transfer students to the University; interviews, counsels, and advises prospective students and parents, visits community colleges focusing on those with TRIO groups including out of state community colleges; evaluates credentials of prospective students and evaluates transfer courses and determines UNI equivalencies; and assists with on and off campus recruitment events.
Senior Transfer Admissions Counselor position : Recruits new transfer students to the University; interviews, counsels, and advises prospective students and parents, visits community colleges focusing on those with TRIO groups including out of state community colleges; evaluates credentials of prospective students and evaluates transfer courses and determines UNI equivalencies; assists with on and off campus recruitment events; manages a recruitment territory; and serves as in office resource for non-traditional transfer students.
Qualifications :
Transfer Admissions Counselor position : Bachelor's degree; excellent communication skills; and ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and counselors and work within a team environment required. Related experience in admissions, advising, orientation, or student advocacy and demonstrated knowledge of the University of Northern Iowa preferred. Student experience will be considered. Frequent travel and occasional night and weekend work will be necessary.
Senior Transfer Admissions Counselor position : Bachelor's degree; at least two years of experience in admissions, marketing, or related student affairs field; demonstrated success in student recruitment and territory management; excellent communication skills; and ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and counselors and work within a team environment required. Frequent travel and occasional night and weekend work will be necessary.

Compensation :
The pay grade and hourly rate will be determined by position level hired into. Below are the pay grades and starting salary range for each level :
Transfer Admissions Counselor; pay grade 117; $18.50 to Commensurate
Senior Transfer Admissions Counselor; pay grade 118; $21.00 to Commensurate
