The Supportive Living Cook will generally work 6-9 hours per week, with shifts during the hours of 3 : 00-6 : 00pm Wednesday and Thursday. Additional hours may be given to participate in job related training.
Organizational Relationships :
Reports to the Driver Supervisor and Nutrition Program ManagerCollaborates with Supportive Living and Housing StaffEssential Job Functions :
Promotes a welcoming, hospitable community environment for residentsHeats, portions, and serves the evening meal to residents in the community roomAlways follows stringent food safety sanitation practicesMaintains logs of food service and refrigerator temperaturesCleans and sanitizes the trays, pots, pans, and the meal site kitchen overall at the close of each shiftNotifies Nutrition office staff by phone or email of any meal shortages or unsatisfactory food issues within 24 hours of each shiftDistributes monthly menus to residents in a timely manner to allow for reservations to be madeTakes attendance at the meal site daily and returns attendance sheet weekly to Nutrition office staffCollects voluntary donations and brings donation lockbox to the Nutrition office on a monthly basisNotifies Nutrition office staff when supplies or paperwork need replenishment and transports them to the siteNotifies Supportive Living Coordinator of any resident issues out of the norm and for resident emergencies dials 911Refers residents to the Community Dietician with any nutrition or diet related questionsPerforms other tasks as requested by the Driver Supervisor and Nutrition Program ManagerNon-essential Job Functions :
Attend meetings as required including staff meetings, in-service trainings, utilization reviews, and collateral agencyRequirements :
Must attend the EOEA Nutrition Sanitation Certification Workshop or have current ServSafe certificationRequires lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, as well as bending, reaching, and cleaningOther Skills / Abilities :
Proven basic cooking and cleaning abilitiesOrganized, able to improvise, work independently and ability to multi-taskUnderstands the importance of resident privacyGood listener and communicatorCommercial food service knowledge and experience with elders preferredHours : Up to 6-9 hours per week (Wednesday and Thursday 3 : 00-6 : 00 pm)
