Job Summary :
The Patient Transporter is responsible for escorting hospital and ambulatory patients safely and efficiently to their destinations using a wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher. This role ensures patient comfort and safety while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Escort patients from entry points to their initial appointments or destinations in a timely and safe manner.
- Complete the Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each transported patient, recording details such as date, start time, equipment information, disinfectant used, patient MRN, destination, and completion time.
- Sanitize wheelchairs before each use following the Wheelchair “High-Touch†Disinfection / Inspection Protocol.
- Follow the Equipment Checklist for safely assisting patients on and off wheelchairs.
- Deliver courteous, professional service that ensures a positive patient and caregiver experience.
- Follow directions accurately and navigate the hospital campus independently.
- Maintain good communication skills and a positive demeanor.
- Safely push patients weighing 200 pounds or more in a wheelchair.

High school diploma (required).
Experience :
Minimum 1 year of patient care and / or heavy customer service experience (required).
