Software Engineer

Job Duties

Zurich (Anoka, MN) seeks a Software Engineer to support the development of applications by understanding the requirements of customers and recommending application performance improvements to ensure alignment with business requirements. Specific duties include : design, develop, implement and support extraordinarily complex Winforms and Web applications using advanced knowledge of technologies; solve technical problems around application system design, performance, scalability, and system / product stability; evaluate systems specifications for desktop application requirements and determine / implement the most efficient and cost-effective software solutions; research and track innovative technologies, develop service applications, and analyze business requirements for Crop Insurance agents and other internal business groups; responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards; provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff; and provide application support and attend to application and server related issues. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Technologies - Information Assurance, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Developer, Programmer, or similar position supporting the development of applications. Must have 5 years of experience working with each of the following : application development and implementation; and SQL development. Must also have 3 years of experience implementing client server web applications. Additionally, must have 1 year of experience developing VB.Net Applications. Specific experience must include working with each of the following : Visual Studio; Azure Dev Ops; VB.NET or C#; SQL Server; SSRS; Crescent quikPak; Spread 3.0; Adobe Acrobat Pro; A-PDF Watermark; IBM I Access for Windows; Angular; JavaScript; and Bootstrap.
