What You Can Expect
The Negotiation Excellence Principal Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing negotiation outcomes through data analysis, playbook development, and cross-functional collaboration. This position combines negotiation and analytical expertise with strategic procurement insight to drive value, mitigate risk, and support business growth.
How You'll Create Impact
- Support the creation and refinement of negotiation frameworks, playbooks, and best practices
- Act as coach and expert sounding board for supplier negotiation development
- Analyze past negotiation outcomes to identify patterns, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Conduct spend analysis, supplier performance reviews, and market benchmarking to inform negotiation tactics
- Build dashboards and models to track negotiation KPIs (e.g., savings, cycle time, win / loss ratios)
- Partner with category managers, legal, and finance to prepare for high-impact negotiations
- Conduct training of the Procurement organization on negotiation excellence skills and advance negotiation technique
- Develop training materials and toolkits to upskill internal teams on negotiation excellence
- Identify gaps in negotiation workflows and recommend process improvements
- Support automation and digital tools that enhance negotiation efficiency and transparency
- Ensure negotiation practices align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Maintain documentation and audit trails for strategic negotiations
- Prepare reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents of both a recurring and nonrecurring nature. Create reports to show financial impact of procurement projects and initiatives
- Perform moderately complex analyses of data to draw inferences or conclusions to drive sound decisions
- Identify and define procurement best practices both within and external to Zimmer Biomet and ensure that those best practices are widely adopted within the company
- Collaborate actively with key stakeholders to ensure Procurement is actively engaged at the beginning of the process in core business initiatives and processes
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies or procedures to ensure that the behavior exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical, and professional
- Partner with other functions to ensure compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments

Procurement will be actively involved in the end-to-end process for categories and will have demonstrated a clear and meaningful impact.
The relationship between this role, Procurement senior leadership, Procurement team members, and cross-functional stakeholders will be working well with no confusion regarding roles and responsibilities.
Performance internal metrics and supporting data collection processes will be in place, actively monitored, and viewed as credible and accurate.
Suppliers will be actively managed and developed using a common scorecard process.
