Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This role will be full-time night shift 3 x 12-hour shifts per week 7 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 00a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities :

Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination for patients,

Ensures safe, therapeutic, holistic care, incorporating patient / family-centered approaches and respect for individual differences.

Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet patient and family needs across the care continuum, including education.

Communicates effectively and collaborates with healthcare team members, respecting other clinical disciplines.

Determines care delivery processes using patient communication, technology, and team collaboration.

Perform comprehensive health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets.

Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and population trends.

Deliver patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.

Advocate for patient rights and provide counsel to resolve issues.

Access multidisciplinary resources for patient outcomes and coordinate transition planning.

Document all patient care activities according to standards.

Evaluate care processes, anticipate patient variances, and revise care plans accordingly.

Make clinical decisions based on experience, patient data, and intuition.

Foster effective communication and cooperation with clinical teams.

Assess and measure patient education needs and outcomes.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and direction to staff, including preceptorship and delegation of care activities.

Ensure care delivery aligns with standards, guidelines, and collaborative processes.

Pursue professional development by obtaining continuing education.

Evaluate clinical and quality outcomes and contribute to performance improvement.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.

Certification : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units : Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units : Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire

Licensure : Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications :

Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) inpatient experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
