Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Network Engineer to support enterprise cloud networking initiatives within a hybrid infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience architecting and implementing AWS networking solutions, supporting distributed systems, and ensuring secure, high-performance connectivity across AWS services. Former Capital One experience is required.
Responsibilities AWS Network Architecture & Engineering
Design, implement, and optimize secure AWS network architectures using VPC, subnets, routing, NACLs, Security Groups, and VPC Peering .
Configure Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity .
Support scalable, high-performance network communication for distributed applications and data pipelines.
Implement network routing, segmentation, and traffic-flow optimizations across AWS workloads.
Cloud Connectivity & Data Pipeline Support
Enable secure communication for services interacting with S3, Lambda, EMR, Glue, EC2 , and other AWS components.
Ensure high-throughput, low-latency data transfer between data-processing systems and cloud storage.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues in distributed cloud and on-prem environments.
Security, Performance & Monitoring
Apply network security best practices across all AWS workloads.
Configure IAM roles, endpoint policies, and secure access patterns for network components.
Monitor and analyze AWS network performance using CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, and other monitoring tools.
Participate in CI / CD processes as they relate to networking, deployment automation, and environment provisioning.
Collaboration & Documentation
Collaborate with cloud, data, and platform engineering teams to design end-to-end infrastructure.
Participate in architecture discussions and provide networking best practices.
Document network design, topology, standards, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
7+ years of experience in cloud or network engineering roles.
Deep hands-on experience with AWS networking services :
VPC, Subnets, Route Tables
Security Groups, NACLs
VPC Peering, Transit Gateway
Direct Connect, VPN
VPC Endpoints & PrivateLink
Strong understanding of distributed systems communication and cloud data flows.
Experience supporting AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, EMR, Glue from a networking perspective.
Familiarity with CI / CD methodologies, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Former Capital One experience is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, Security).
Experience in hybrid cloud networking in enterprise environments.
Prior exposure to large-scale data engineering or analytics workflows (from a networking standpoint).
